Here you can find definition and best practices on how to use EAW and EAP.
Multilateral Agreement
In order to make use of the e-AWB you need a multilateral e-AWB agreement with the Airline.
You can contact the Airline to arrange the agreement.
EAW
e-freight Consignment with No Accompanying Paper Documents
e-AWB data will be transferred to airline, no shipping documents (e.g. invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin) will be delivered with the shipment. No need to print the AWB.
EAP
For an Electronic Air Waybill (EAP AWB), the goal is to minimize printed documents and rely on electronic versions. However, certain scenarios may still require printing. In the scenario where original documents are required (origin or destination) you always need to send it as EAP.
Understand stakeholder requirements and print only when necessary to maintain compliance and efficiency.
EAP Pouch
The EAP Pouch or e-Pouch contains (original) documents that are required at origin or destination. For the origin they are often required on the outside of the pouch while documents required upon arrival are placed inside the pouch.
The pouch is always marked with an eFreight-pouch label that can be printed from Scope. This label is not a replacement for the regular IATA Airline label and should not be placed on the shipment.
Possible documents (to Print) for EAP AWB
- Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD): Required for hazardous materials to comply with IATA regulations. Two or more originals are often required on the outside of the EAP Pouch.
- House Air Waybill (HAWB): Needed for consolidated shipments. Sometimes also requested on the outside of the EAP pouch.
- Original signed copy (2) of the AWB: Sometimes requested by the consignee
- Customs Documentation: Such as (original) Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Export/Import Licenses, Certificates of Origin etc. Check if any of these documents are requested on the outside or inside of the EAP Pouch.
- Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI): If preferred by shippers for specific handling instructions.
- Delivery Receipt: May be required by the consignee or for record-keeping.
