CO₂ calculator for each shipment in Scope: with CarbonCare

Calculate the CO₂ footprint with CarbonCare according to EU standard EN16258.

Each shipment in Scope from the Air Export, Air Import, Sea Export, and Sea Import modules contains the CO₂ footprint of its total shipment as information.

What exactly is calculated?

All transport routes listed in the shipment are included in the CO₂ calculation.

CO₂ vs. CO₂e vs. CO₂wtw

  • CO₂: is the pure carbon dioxide that is released.
  • CO₂e: also includes carbon dioxide equivalent. Other greenhouse gases are also included, such as 1 kg of methane corresponds to an equivalent of 25 kg of CO₂. In this way, it is easy to express all greenhouse gases produced during transport in bundled form as CO₂.
  • CO₂WTW: Here, not only the consumption from "tank to tire" is determined as with CO₂ and CO₂e, but also the emissions that occur around the upstream (fuel production/transport/fine distribution ...).

License model as of Scope 22.6: CarbonCare is integrated in Scope and you can calculate and display values for all shipments.
In addition, you can request the extended business license and test it for three months free of charge.

Settings

Settings > Forwarding > Forwarding settings > Carbon Care settings

Via the button Request API Key you will be assigned a business license, which you can test three months free of charge.
If you want to continue using the business license after that, please contact CarbonCare:
You can enter your API key for the extended business license in the window at the top under Carbon Care Settings.

Settings > Forwarding > Forwarding settings > Recalculate CO₂

Owners of the CarbonCare business license can do a CO₂ recalculation of previous shipments. Enter the corresponding period (max. 3 months) that should be calculated. In order to calculate for a complete year, the process must be repeated 4 times. That way, you will get the calculation for every quarter.
