Printing with Scope: VPN will get new infrastructure
All VPN connections used in conjunction with Scope must either be turned off or migrated to another solution by the end of 2023.
-
Existing VPN connections will expire on Dec 31st, 2023.
-
You will have the option to continue using a VPN. The VPN must be re-setup on your and our end. The new VPN endpoints will run on our Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
The cost for this is €300 per month. -
The VPN is usually used for the automatic option. Also, dot-matrix or label printers (using their native language) can only be used via a VPN connection. The alternatives are:
-
Dot-matrix: used for AWB printing. AWB's may also be printed as a PDF.
Our suggestion: switch to PDF AWB's. -
Labels: there are label printers that understand PDF labels.
You should consider using printers that can use PDF labels.

As an alternative to the current Direct Printing method, Scope is also able to send the created PDFs to an email address. You may use this option to send out the PDF files as an email and then attach a script to the email inbox that takes the PDF and forwards it to a printer. Here is a walkthrough of how to do it: https://service.riege.com/en/knowledge/printing-via-email
If you would like to continue using the VPN connection in Scope without restrictions (e.g. for label printing), please inform us by email to service@riege.com
