How is the security status of the parties validated for different transport types?

Scope revalidates the security status for air freight export shipments based on the actions performed over time in order to output the current security status in each case.

Prerequisite: it is assumed that the own branch has the RegB role.

If an order is created without pickup or terminal delivery, the security status is checked based on the shipper. If the role Secure Shipper with a valid registration number is maintained for the shipper, the status of the shipment is set to SPX by KC. If the shipper does not have the Secure Shipper role, the status is set from NSC. The shipment can be made secure by a backup order.

If a pickup is entered for a shipment, Scope checks the parties involved in the following order:

  • Pickup location (if shipper, must be assigned the Secure Shipper role, otherwise must be RegB role).
  • Trucking company (must be the RegB role)
  • Unloading point (must be the RegB role)

The security status is set to SPX by KC if all participants are subject to the regulations according to LBA. If one of the participants does not meet the requirements, the security status is set to NSC (not secure). In order to make the shipment secure nevertheless, it is possible to activate a securing order by specifying the measure for securing. In most cases, this is the X-ray measure. After successful execution and confirmation, the security status is set to SPX by XRay.

If multiple collections are organized for an order, Scope checks the parties involved in each case and sets the security status according to the roles set. If a party does not meet the requirements, a backup order can be created for that portion of the shipment to make the shipment secure, just as with a single pickup.

If a terminal delivery is entered for a shipment, Scope checks the parties in the following order:

  • Pickup location (must have RegB role)
  • Carrier (must have RegB role)
  • Unloading point (must have role RegB)
Typically, delivery to the terminal is made from the local site or hub. If a party does not have the RegB role, the shipment can only be delivered to the terminal as an NSC. The security measure takes place at the terminal so that the shipment can be departed.
