What is the difference between reports created in the shipment overview and reports from the finance module?

Shipment Overview output with Finance Reporting output can not be compared as they are based on different dates and data.

Finance reports are almost completely  based on invoices - booking dates are crucial. They deal with finalized bookings/invoices.

Shipment (overview) reports are based on the economic dates. There may be open estimates, for example.
