What is an “offset” in the tracking plan and what is it used for?
With the “offset” you can very precisely determine a day X that is dependent on a date.
ExampleYou have determined the ETA, i.e., the planned time. In the practical example, the ETA would be 09/10/2024. If you now enter “Offset 3 days”, Scope counts the ETA date PLUS 3 — that would be 13.09.
If you enter “- (Minus) 3 days” for Offset, Scope takes the ETA MINUS three days — 09/07/2024 as the planned time.
This is used, for example, for “Customs clearance must be submitted 3 days before ETA”: Then the planned time order property “ETA” with an offset of minus — 3 days is entered for the milestone “Customs clearance”.
