My Scope PDF is password protected, what can I do?
Documents are encrypted to prevent changes that are not stored in the Scope data.
- Your Scope document (e.g. invoice) is protected to ensure data integrity.
The correct way to solve this situation is to re-issue a new/corrected document. - Please note that each document has a unique password which even the Riege Service is not able to provide to you.
- You have the option to create a non-protected PDF for individual debtors for outgoing vouchers. In order to do so, you have to check the checkbox “Generate PDF/A-1b conform PDF”.
Master Data > Partner
This option is only available to users who have the permission “Partner: Role “Debtor” Edit the PDF-A of a debtor profile”.
- You may also consider deactivating the protection completely. This can be done by Riege Service only. Please contact us if you want to switch off the password protection.
Note: Document protection will be on/off for all documents created by Scope (except for PDF-A).
If the recipient of the PDF reports that they cannot open the PDF due to password protection, it may be because they are attempting to open the PDF in a PDF editor rather than a PDF viewer. In this case, recommend using a PDF viewer.
