Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a federal agency of the Department of Health and Human Services responsible for protecting public health by regulating various types of products.

Products that are regulated and monitored by the FDA may be held up for inspection when imported into the United States. Examples:
Drugs, food, human pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical devices, radiation-emitting electronic products (such as LED lamps), cosmetics, animal/veterinary drugs, tobacco products.
